Technical Q&A QTPC09
Apple Multimedia Tuner

Q Our application plays QuickTime movies. Some older movies played well in System 7.1, but they don't play properly with System 7.5 or 7.5.1. We happened to find Apple MultiMedia Tuner, and it solves the problem. What is Apple Multimedia Tuner, who needs it, how does a customer get it, and can we distribute it?

A The Apple Multimedia Tuner cures common low-memory situations. Anyone who uses QuickTime 2.0 should use it. Apple Multimedia Tuner 2.0.1 is available on various online services (see list below). You can distribute the Apple Multimedia Tuner if you sign a licensing agreement, which is available from Software Licensing (SW.LICENSE). There is no fee associated with the distribution of the Tuner.

Apple's Customer Service Division (CSD) posts Apple software updates to the following online services:

1. AppleLink
2. eWorld
3. CompuServe
4. Internet: Apple Computer Higher Education gopher server
5. Internet: ftp.info.apple.com (formerly ftp.austin.apple.com)
6. Internet: ftp.support.apple.com
